Our crew LOVES us a good birthday party! Annabelle especially is my little party planning-mini. She starts prepping for her birthdays at least six months in advanced, although preparations for “next year” generally start the day after her party. Girlfriend loves a themed party. We decided to keep things on the small end, partially to keep things easy in light of other chaos and regulations but also easy from a logistical friend end. I allowed Annabelle to invite two friends to celebrate with and she chose a couple of her besties from dance. And being in true mom fashion, I forced her to include her little sister. She chose a spa theme and we had a lot of fun with it!

I bought plastic table cloths (to contain the mess) and these white dish tubs from the dollar store which fit their little feet perfectly. Honestly, all I did was grab mint leaves and rose petals from my backyard garden. It was cheap, beautiful, and fresh! I also added a couple drops of essential oils into the foot baths as well.

Because we kept the group small, it lent beneficial to being able to spoil the girls a little extra too. I got each girl these satin robes and spa head bands. They served as spa party wear as well as party favors; I love a double duty item! Annabelle also used her own money to buy a three part BFF bracelet to share with her friends. I love that those things are still around!

We kept the spa items pretty basic. Annabelle chose a few of her favorite nail polish colors from my stash, we sliced cucumbers for eyes and made a simple face mask with fresh avocado. We threw in some candles, fresh flowers, and linen table cloths and it came together much fancier than the handful of items from my fridge, bathroom, and backyard that they really were.

We kept refreshments SUPER simple (which is also very out of character for me). We made some fresh fruit kebabs, tied ribbons on chilled bottled water, and we made a special “spa fancy drink” for each girl. Keep in mind that everything looks fancier when you put it in the right glass 😉 The spa beverages were: muddled fresh black berries, half a pump of vanilla Torani syrup and sparkling water. We had also frozen some fresh berries in a tall cylindrical ice mold ahead of time for some extra fanciness.

The girls enjoyed their light refreshments during their spa treatments of foot baths, face masks, and manicures. When I say manicure, I mean I just painted each girl’s nails the color of their choice. When they were done they gathered at the dining table and had some carry out pizza. It doesn’t get any easier than that!

Once they were done with their spa, pizza, and gift opening, we all piled in the van and I drove them to a nearby ice cream parlor. Each girl picked her own treat and we all sat on the patio and enjoyed the fresh air and sweets. It was so easy and so fun. Possibly the easiest party I’ve ever done. Annabelle and her little gal pals had a great time and the best part is that they will have those memories forever.
