My sweet girl Giselle loved all the donut fun we had for my BFFs baby sprinkle back in May. In fact, she loved it so much that she asked to have her birthday just like the sprinkle. Naturally, it couldn’t be just donuts though. At the last minute, she decided that it MUST be a “rainbow donut” party. I am not huge on licensed themed parties so of course I was over the moon about the idea! Here are some details from her special day…

Pretty grateful that over the top pool floaties are a thing these days! This over sized inflatable donut served as a center piece so-to-speak for our food table!

I made a fringe banner with rainbow colors and donut fabric. Just for my rainbow donut girl. And bonus: nowthat the party is over, it hangs it her closet!

We kept the fare pretty simple since the donuts were the real star of the show! A beautiful fruit platter with fresh mint from my garden, a large salad with ALL the fixings; especially Giselle’s favorite: feta cheese. Baked chicken with amazing dry rub also happens to be one of her favorites and was also specifically requested by the birthday girl. Delicious, filling, and even friendly to our GF guests!

Our local bakery makes AMAZING donuts- but they’re not big on decorations. So I ordered dozens of plain cake donuts and made and dipped my own colorful frosting! Colorful little paper bags worked both as decoration and “to-go” vessels for left over donuts. Win win!!

Is it even a donut party if you don’t have a donut board!?

Who needs party hats when you have donut shoppe hats!? The kiddos looked adorable in these themed hats as they sang happy birthday over a copper tower of donuts for the birthday girl.

Donut be shy, grab a drink! A party just wouldn’t be a party without colorful paper straws to match our theme! Giselle picked the beautiful potted purple blooms for her big day. I love how they add color to our drink table!

The kids always want to help with decorations and crafts for their parties. The control freak in me wants everything to look perfect so this occasionally leaves us with a dilemma. Giselle and I worked together on this donut banner; I cut the shapes and she colored the sprinkles on top. Best of both worlds right there.

What can I say, to know Giselle is to love her. Glad we got to show her a Whole Lotta Love for her special day. (please don’t mind the mounds of mulch in the driveway and the unfinished drywall in our garage as we were not expecting to be hosting in there instead of our patio due to weather conditions.
